Cognitive Enhancement Therapy is an 18-month cognitive remediation approach that integrates computer-assisted neurocognitive training and social-cognitive group sessions. Patients receiving CET need to be able to commit to attending in-person 3 hours per week (2 x 1.5 hour appointments). A minimum of two (2) master’s-level therapists are required to provide the CET social-cognitive group sessions. Agencies are advised to train more than the minimum number of required therapists. 1Cognitive Enhancement Therapy is designed for individuals with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who are in the recovery phase of the condition. Eligible individuals will be stabilized on antipsychotic medication, living and receiving services on an outpatient basis, have an IQ greater than 80, are fluent in spoken English, read at least a 6th grade level, and will not be abusing drugs and alcohol.
